The Binational Race San Diego Tijuana offers a unique opportunity to traverse the 13.1mi route shared between San Diego and Tijuana.
The half marathon begins its route on Las Americas Premium Outlets, proceeding along Camino de la Plaza avenue until reaching Dairy Mart Rd. At kilometer 5, participants will enjoy the natural reserves of Tijuana River Valley Park. At kilometer 10, they will experience crossing the border through the San Ysidro – El Chaparral international checkpoint.
Join all participants running in a lane of Freeway 5 to enter Mexico through the world’s busiest border crossing.
Following this historic crossing, participants continue along the international route. This significant effort is rewarded with panoramic views of San Diego and a fast 5 km descent until reaching the finish line at Playas de Tijuana.

The Binational Race offers two different distances:
Half Marathon:
Our flagship event offers a unique opportunity to tackle the 13.1m route extending from San Diego to Tijuana. Starting at Las Americas Premium Outlets, the route takes you through the natural reserves of Tijuana River Valley Park. At the 10km mark, you’ll traverse the border via the San Ysidro – El Chaparral international checkpoint.
Join us as you navigate to cross into Mexico through the world’s busiest border crossing.
Following this historic border crossing, the journey continues along the international route. This arduous climb offers breathtaking panoramic views of San Diego, followed by a swift 5km descent leading to the finish line at Playas de Tijuana.
10 km:
For participants opting to remain in Mexico, we extend an invitation to join the 10km race commencing at the start of Avenida Internacional. Following the same route as the half marathon, runners finishing together at Playas de Tijuana.
Race Kit:
All runners, upon registering, are entitled to a Race Packet which includes a bib number, a chip, and a t-shirt. At the end of the race, everyone will earn a medal for this event.
The shuttle service is provided by SDTJ Passport.
SDTJ Passport is a Tijuana shuttle company specializing in passenger service between Tijuana and San Ysidro.
10k registrants coming from the USA side
For our 10K registrants coming from the USA side, we provide transportation from Las Americas Premium Outlets to the 10k start line.
Buses pick you up at Las Americas Premium Outlets, cross you over, and take you straight to the start line.
We hope this service helps you focus on your run and enjoy the unique experience of the Binational Race!

Finish line to border
Shuttles facilitate the return from the finish line to the border on the US side.
This service is available for all participants, as well as their friends and family members. Note that both races finish at the same location.
All shuttle users must be ready to present the appropriate immigration documents, as is customary for crossing the border.
The shuttle service price is $25. Early online purchases are available at a special price of $15.
Shuttle tickets will be provided at Packet pick-up.
On Race Day, you will be available to purchase shuttle tickets at the finish line.
The shuttle service hours are to be determined.

Boarding at La Monumental Bullring parking lot west gate.
Place of arrival
SDTJ Passport point before the border for quick documentation check.
San Ysidro Border on the US side.
Once the shuttles drop passengers off at the border, you will need to go through customs. After completing customs, the exit will be on the PedEast.
Take the pedestrian bridge across the freeway to reach Las Americas Premium Outlets. It will be a 5-8 minute walk to the west.

All events finish in Playas de Tijuana at Parque de la Amistad.
You will be rewarded with stunning ocean views and the refreshing sea breeze. Enjoy the sense of accomplishment as you take in the beautiful scenery and unwind after completing such a significant challenge. It’s the perfect way to relax, celebrate your achievement and reunite with loved ones.

Post-race festivities includes music and gastronomic offerings from local vendors.

King and Queen of the Hill

Introducing the King/Queen of the Hill – a race within the race!
We want to reward the fastest 5 Kings and 5 Queens who conquer the famous Enchilada hill. This is your moment to shine, to show that you can push your limits and conquer every meter of this challenging climb. Your legs have that extra strength we need!
Get ready for a special recognition if you’re the first to reach the top. It’s time to give it your all and claim the title of King or Queen of the Hill!

The resort is approximately 7.9 miles from Las Americas Premium Outlets. The driving distance is about 8.8 miles. Depending on traffic conditions, the drive typically takes around 15 to 20 minutes.

The hotel is located 5.8 miles of the event starting location with a short 15 minutes drive.
- Best Western Plus Marina Gateway Hotel
The hotel is located approximately 9 miles of the event starting location. The drive typically takes around 15 to 20 minutes, depending on traffic conditions.
